Welcome to Illawarra Archers
Welcome to Illawarra Archers
Hi everyone,
Our annual South Coast Field, is coming up on 8 and 9 August at Illawarra Archers.
It's a two day World Archery Arrowhead Field Event and if you shoot the right scores you'll be able to claim awards from World Archery.
Full canteen facilities and breakfast are available for purchase on both days, and the barbecue lunch is free.
If you haven't already registered, registration is open till 23.59pm on 31 July at https://account.archery.assemblesports.io/finder?id=3004435
It's $60 to shoot both days and $40 to shoot only one day. As the target ranges are closed for both days during the event, it may be the only opportunity you get to shoot on that weekend, so you may as well shoot the event for at least one day. As it's a tournament and a controlled event, our usual field induction rules don't apply, and after the event we'll sign you off as having completed your field induction.
If you decide not to shoot, please consider volunteering to help run the event. We'll need people from 7.00 am for various jobs:
Parking directors
Barbecue cooking for breakfast and lunch
Manage archers sign-on sheets
Help to retrieve lost or stuck arrows
Take photos during the event
Assist Yingzhi, our Field Captain, to put up new targets for Sunday after the Saturday shoot
Assist with checking score-cards both days after the shoots
We have enough people for the canteen, however if you can, please provide some goodies for afternoon tea on the Sunday.
If you'd like to volunteer to help with the event, please contact Fiona at recorder@illawarraarchers.org or Yingzhi at fieldcaptain@illawarraarchers.org .
Yingzhi may also need some assistance during the couple of days before the event to set up the field and place targets.
Thanks,
Diane

Our club has some of the best facilities available to archers in Australia with the club facilities being available to members 7 days a week, and the depth of experience within the club is of great benefit to newer archers and those wishing to advance their skills.
We hold club competitions every Saturday and also host several tournaments throughout the year. Interested in archery?? Try one of our Beginner Classes and get involved.
